I had such a crazy day on Thursday. I waited all day at work for a phone call, that came at 3:25. I get off work at 3:30 and to make the 5:30 ferry on a long weekend, I have to leave right away. The phone call was so important that I had to take it and ended up staying until 4pm.
The ferry sold out by 4:45 and it was doubtful that I would have made it there on time even if i had left on time. But it meant that I was sitting at the terminal for two and a half hours waiting for the next ferry. I have been practicing my drawing again lately and I have my phone to keep me busy too, so that wasn’t too terrible.
On the drive from the ferry to home, I was in the conga line of cars driving along Henry Road in Gibsons when I heard a big thud against my car. I obviously hit something but wasn’t sure what it was and there was nothing around. After pulling off to the side of the road, the car that was behind me filled me in. A deer had jumped into the side of my car and then run off. It was pretty crazy. The car now has a pretty big dent but it is just on one panel and didn’t affect the door so it should be ok. I never did see the deer but it was at least alive enough to run away.
It was a really crazy drive home. In total it took me 5 hours to get from work to home.
