Trick or Treat

This Halloween was a whole lot of fun.  Sacha was a dragon and IMG_3142Alice was a chicken.  We started the evening trick or treating at Kai and Steph’s and Max and Margot’s houses (across the street from each other.  Kai had a cool pot full of dry ice so you had to reach your hand into a smoking cauldron to pick candy.  Margot and Max had about 12 pumpkins on their steps.

Next we headed over to Steve and Natasa’s house, where we have trick or treated for the last 3 years.  Their IMG_3145neighbourhood is teeming with kids and Steve had put on a firework show that keeps getting bigger and better every year.

Jack was Darth Vader and Sacha was very impressed with his costume and light sabre especially.  At the park, while waiting for the firework show, we ran into another little boy dressed up as a dragon.  They were the same age, same height, same costume.  The only way you could tell apart was that Sacha had shoes that lit up with red lights and the other boy had a flashing red light on his back attached to his wings.  They had a great time chasing each other around.  You could hear them calling to each other “dragon, where are you dragon” when they would misplace each other amongst the other kids.  Very Cute. At first Sacha was scared of the fireworks but when we got far enough away and sat on the ground (thank goodness it was dry) he really got into it.  On the drive back to Mum’s he asked the whole way to see more fireworks and let us know that he preferred them from the car because they didn’t hurt his ears.  So maybe next year we will bring him some earplugs.
